Never again ...I started working for this xyz company from 2004 december. Well .. To begin with, I thought that this should also be a company where my work would be recognised. Yeah, my work was recognised and I was paid well too... Worked day and night, went to the office whenever I was called for. I had to resign from this organisation for my own future ambitions. From my last pay cheque(settlement), pay for 6 days was missing. I asked the management, what the reason was. They told me that its because of the leaves that I had taken. I had 6 days of outstanding leaves. I made them understand that its a start-up and employees dint get compensatory-offs as well. And if there were excess leaves it could well be waived off. Dint want to fight because that would mean that Iam fighting for money. I told them that even when I went on vacations, I used to be complelety in touch with my colleagues and I have helped them in lot of occassions. Pat came the reply, that the management feels that the employees are mature enough to decide when to work.
This made me realise whichever company Iam working for, pays me for whatever I do. Nothing more than that. As Infosys chairman said "Love the job you do, never love your company, - You never know when the company would stop loving you". Very true...
Well.. This might be happening world over. When people jump from one company to another for money, I would think that its bad. But why not ? After all its for money that we work. And AFTER ALL, you get paid for whatever you do. Company unakkena maamana machaana...
After around one month, after some chat with the management, they DONATED me the pay for those 6 days. Thanks !!! I whispered to myself... After all, I needed the money :-)
